Governance - Strategy - Oversight
The School Board has the role of School Governance, with its core focus being raising student achievement and improving the learning outcomes for all students. School boards bring families, communities and schools together to deliver quality education for our children.

The Board:
  • Ensures every student can reach their highest possible standard in student achievement.
  • Is the employer of all staff in the school.
  • Sets the school's strategic direction in consultation with parents, whānau, staff, students and the wider school community.
  • Is responsible for overseeing the management of personnel, curriculum, property, finance and administration.

The Board sets strategic goals for the school via the Strategic Plan, and reports on our progress to the school and wider community through its Annual Report. You can view the latest reports in the Board Documents section of this website.
Question for the Board

Please contact the Board (via the school Office) if there are issues you would like them to discuss.
If you want help with a problem, please follow our Concerns or Questions Process first, for a satisfactory outcome.

Our PTA is very active at Halcombe School and organises a variety of activities to support our school and encourage parent participation. The PTA undertakes fundraising and supports school functions in a variety of ways.

The PTA meets throughout the year - see the School Calendar and the newsletter for meeting dates.

The PTA Executive is confirmed each year at its AGM (usually early in the year). New PTA members are always welcome and parents/caregivers can attend meetings at any time during the year.

You can contact the PTA via the School Office.
“Friends of the PTA”
We have a “Friends of the PTA” group of parents that we can call on for extra help.  This might involve providing afternoon tea for a school event, helping with classroom tasks, providing support for families in need, or collecting things from town. Please come join us! Contact the Office for details. We’d love to know that we can call on you.
