Education Outside the Classroom

Halcombe School is committed to providing exciting & challenging student camps and regular class trips to enhance learning through a wide variety of first-hand experiences. Education Outside the Classroom ('EOTC') provides opportunities for learning, personal growth and social development.

Our camps & trips are very well planned and our teachers provide a high level of care.  We work hard to maintain a safe environment for all those involved in each event. The Board of Trustees supports the provision of camps and trips and signs off on all planning & preparation for any overnight stays.

See the newsletters and class notices about upcoming camps and trips at Halcombe School. Visit our class blogs for great stories and photos about recent adventures!

Recent camps have been held at Turangi, Nydia Bay (Marlborough Sounds), and Sixtus Lodge (Ruahine Ranges) as well as "getting to know you" camps at school and many class trips including Wellington Zoo, Foxton Beach, Manawatu River Cycleway, local farms, Butterfly Creek and Gorge Track.
