Soccer players needed for Feilding United 8th grade
We still have 4 spaces left in our soccer team for boys and girls turning 8 this year (born in 2004). You can be a previous player or a complete beginner - we have spaces in teams to cater for all skill levels. iBike for Kids - Sunday 27th May 2012 - Victoria Esplanade in Palmerston North
iBike is a fun bike event for kids 5 – 15 years who just love being out on their bikes! Easy, medium and hard courses - you pick the course you think you can handle. “Skills Competition” too! Manawatu District Council - Halcombe LTP meeting
Monday 30th April at 7:30pm at the Halcombe Tavern. The MDC will present its proposal for the Long Term Plan (LTP). The LTP will form part of our district plan for the next ten years, so your ideas & suggestions are important. A key area is that the Council has indicated the importance of our local villages and wants to hear our thoughts on how to enhance these unique village lifestyles. Halcombe Community ANZAC Day Service
ANZAC Day Service, Wednesday 25 April, Halcombe War Memorial. Service begins promptly at 11.30am and will be followed by a buffet lunch at the Halcombe Memorial Hall. Please bring a plate of finger food or baking to share after the service.

Te Manawa School Holiday Programme 10th -20th April
We have a range of fun, hands-on activities for children aged 6-12 years these holidays. Themes include masks, dinosaurs, food, crafts, sound, games, autumn and chocolate. Sessions run for three hours; morning (9am – noon) and afternoon (1 - 4pm). Cost is only $15 a session. Halcombe Fire Brigade Sky Tower Challenge – Firewood Fundraiser
On Saturday 19th May, six members of Halcombe's Volunteer Fire Brigade will be competing in the Firefighter
Sky Tower Challenge, in order to raise funds for Leukaemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand. As part of their fundraising effort, the Halcombe Fire Brigade is holding a raffle & you can win a $300 load of firewood (delivered)! Tickets are $2.00 each and available at the Halcombe School Office, or see your local fire-fighter! Halcombe Community Development Group – Waitangi Day Success
The Halcombe Community Development Group's Waitangi Fun Day was a huge success once again, with children and adults of all ages enjoying an afternoon of games, socialising and shared food. The emphasis this year was on team games and it was great to see so many members of the local community willing to get involved and have a go. The tug of war proved to be particularly popular with just about everyone wanting to take on our volunteer fire-fighters! The fire brigade would like to thank everyone who bought cakes and slices on the day - thanks to the generosity of Halcombe residents they were able to raise $134 towards their $5,000 target for Leukaemia and Blood Cancer. Halcombe Fire Brigade Sky Tower Challenge
On Saturday 19th May, six members of Halcombe's Volunteer Fire Brigade will be competing in the Fire-fighter Sky Tower Challenge, climbing the 51 flights of stairs in Auckland's Sky Tower wearing full fire-fighting kit (weighing approx. 25kg) in order to raise funds for Leukaemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand (LBC). Our local fire-fighters do an amazing job within the community and supporting them in their fundraising efforts is just one small way that we can show our appreciation. The competitors are Kevin Darling, David Johnston, Hank Kuyper, Ronald Thomas, Jason Christenson and Hamish Giesen, and between them they aim to raise a minimum of $5,000, all of which will go directly to LBC.
